Dear sir or Madam, I called to do some fishing the other day and was not very happy about the access and parking. i.e brown trout and jubilee, Brown trout was too far too walk and did not look very safe to leave my car at both carparks. The other person who was with me has a problem with his legs and could not walk too far. We where aproaced by a couple of youths who did not look to be to freindly and wanted our cash and car keys.I will not be visiting your river again unless things are sorted with the parking and walking. I will keep a look on your web site for any replys you would like to give.

we were very surprised to hear the complaint about car parking at Jubilee Bridge as we have never received a formal complaint of this nature before. We are concerned about the allegations made and the threat of extortion which we would wish to take up with the police. However we would need some form of identification we would ask that you contact either Ray or Geoff through contact a member on this website to enable us to process this matter further.

Hi Steven, Unfortunately I have been unable to reply to your complaint until now but I am pleased to see that Geoff, has already replied to you. However, I am sure you will appreciate a River runs mainly through Rural areas and parking is always a difficult problem, therefore most anglers will expect that they are going to have to do some walking. Fortunately, parking at the Jubilee Bridge is right on the water side and does allow anglers to fish whilst in sight of their vehicles. There is also parking at the bottom of the stretch at Page Bank, but here also requires some leg work to enable anglers to fish our waters. Whilst you have not specifically said where you experienced the problems with these youths we can only assume you are refering to Jubilee Bridge. I can only reiterate what Geoff has already said. Please contact one of us through the website privately. If problems like this are occuring we need to take action. Most of the Club's Members use the parking in that area, especially Older Members, it is in all our interests to stamp on these people quickly but we need your help to do so. I can assure you that this is the first complaint we have received of this nature, but it will be looked into. If you have any ideas for parking please feel free to come back to us we are always open for suggestions. Meanwhile, Tightlines and happy fishing wherever.

Hi Steve, I have been watching these comments with interest. I have been a member of Willington Angling Club for years, I have used all the car parking facilities down there and I must admit I personally have never had any problems at all. However, that does not mean to say that there are non, but personally I have never heard of any. I would urge you to contact either Geoff, or Ray, as they have suggested to enable them to try and catch up with these yobs, as Ray has stated it is in the interest of all our clubs members to do so. I can appreciate that you personally don't want to involve yourself. but I am sure if that is the case our Officials will keep your identity to themselves.
